"I am compelled by God to be
a "watchman" of Ezekiel 3.
The Lord has called me to help point the younger generation
back,
and show them how to return to His ancient paths."
Judy Gerry
Speaking at retreats, mentoring younger women and writing
books, Judy wakes up every morning reminded that she
serves at the pleasure of the Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. Judy says, "I can hardly wait to see what
each day brings because His plans are always so adventurous
and thrilling! And they're always GOOD!"
Raised in a Christian family, Judy was one of five
children and now she and her husband, Dave, have five
children of their own. Judy met Christ as a young child
and rejoices in God's mercy that all five of their children,
Joanna, Josh, Hope, Laurel, and Micah, know the Lord
and are active in their local churches today. Additional
blessings include five amazing grandchildren!
Judy and Dave met while attending the University of
California at Riverside in the 60's. Judy spent the
years prior to their marriage studying under Tim LaHaye,
Howard Hendricks and Hal Lindsey as well as various
seminary professors at the Institute of Biblical Studies
through Campus Crusade for Christ. She served as a staff
member of Campus Crusade for Christ from 1969-1971.
After marrying her sweetheart, Dave, in July of 1971,
she went on to be a member of the board of Directors
for Child Evangelism Fellowship and serve as a director
for AWANA for eight years. Judy has been a Gideon auxiliary
member since 1980.
As a young woman, the Lord showed Judy that if she
would seek God in His Word, that He would do AMAZING
things in her life. She says, "If we will scour
His Word and ask for those 'Ancient Paths' we will find
the good way. When we obey the Lord, we'll find the
rest, joy and abundant life that He promised. The Bible
is supernatural! It's ALIVE!" As Judy intently
studied Scripture, she began writing Bible studies including
topics such as: Learning Contentment, Facing Adversity,
Discerning the Times, Digging Into God's Word, Prayer
and Spiritual Warfare, Romans, Old Testament Survey,
and many more.
She has taught Bible studies since 1970 and has been
involved as a Mentor Mom for M.O.P.S. (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers).
Loving motherhood and all of the opportunities to meet
Christ through the joy and labor of mothering is evidenced
by Judy's past involvement as a phone counselor with
Life Centers, a crisis pregnancy center. Her passion
for what God says to women for application in every
aspect of their lives has invited numerous opportunities
for speaking to women at retreats on a wide variety
of topics.
Judy and Dave are concerned that the hearts of God's
people are growing stale and cold due to a lack of knowledge
of God's Word (Amos 8:11). They believe God's people
are enduring a self-induced famine, while God says that
we can be feasting at the table of His bountiful blessing.
"This generation of people is wandering, looking
for direction - they are lost. The saddest part of all
is that people today don't even realize how malnourished
they are - yet they're dying."
Together Dave and Judy are invited regularly to speak
as a team to couples at marriage
retreats and they direct an Adult Bible Fellowship
group, the Bereans, comprised of young families at their
home church, Evangelical Free Church of Camarillo.
